in the debate with Pelagius.7 For our purposes the Reformers’ understanding of Paul’s theology of law is particularly significant, since the Reformers’ conception of Paul has had a massive influence on biblical scholarship, and the new look in Pauline studies is, at heart, a counter to the Reformational view.
